This policy outlines how individuals participate in Refactor Esports and defines the general structure of involvement within the organization.
It applies to all individuals associated with Refactor Esports, regardless of role, level of involvement, or form of participation.
The purpose is to create clarity, transparency, and a shared understanding of how participation works in practice.
Forms of Participation
Participation in Refactor Esports may take one of the following forms:
Voluntary Participation ("ideella deltagare")
Individuals may choose to contribute on a voluntary basis.
Voluntary participation:
- is based on personal initiative
- does not involve compensation
- does not create obligations or performance requirements
- does not constitute employment or any contractual work relationship
Individuals participating voluntarily do so with the understanding that:
- their involvement is unpaid
- no financial claims arise from their participation
- no entitlement to compensation, profit sharing, or future payments is created
Consultant Engagement ("uppdragstagare")
In certain cases, individuals may be engaged as consultants through a separate agreement.
Such engagements:
- are defined individually and agreed upon in advance
- may include compensation depending on scope and available resources
- specify responsibilities, expectations, and terms of engagement
Consultant engagements do not constitute employment unless explicitly stated.
Agreement & Clarity
The nature of each individual's participation is:
- clearly defined
- discussed in advance
- mutually agreed upon before involvement begins
No assumptions should be made regarding compensation, responsibilities, or expectations outside of what has been explicitly agreed.
Financial Expectations
Participation in Refactor Esports does not, in itself, create any right to:
- salary or compensation
- financial benefits
- ownership, profit sharing, or future payouts
Any compensation is only provided through separate agreements.
No Employment Relationship
Unless explicitly defined in a written agreement, participation in Refactor Esports does not constitute:
- employment
- assignment
- or any form of formal work relationship
Responsibility & Conduct
All participants are expected to:
- act in accordance with the organization's policies
- contribute to a constructive and respectful environment
- understand the nature of their participation
Competition & Team Representation
Participation in Refactor Esports does not restrict individuals from being involved in other organizations or communities.
However, clarity in competitive representation is important.
The following principles apply:
- An individual represents only one team per tournament or league
- The individual chooses which team to represent in a given competition
- Team rosters apply only to the competitions in which the team participates
- Participation in Refactor Esports does not restrict involvement in other communities or organizations
This means that an individual may:
- be part of the Refactor Esports community
- participate in its activities
- while representing another team in competitive contexts
Flexibility
This policy serves as a general framework and may be updated or adapted as the organization evolves.
